WAUKESHA, Wisc. – On Thursday, Judge Brad Schimel met with Hispanic voters in Milwaukee County to discuss the importance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Wisconsinites in every corner of the state are sick and tired of Justices on their highest court using their power as a weapon to implement their political agendas. Judge Brad Schimel is running to restore objectivity and impartiality to the Wisconsin Supreme Court to restore what Susan Crawford lacks: integrity.

“I wasn’t planning to run for Supreme Court. But I watched in 2023 when we had a candidate who ultimately won, who made open promises on the campaign trail, how she was going to rule on cases. Well, that’s the end of the justice system.”
“Imagine you’ve gone to a Brewer[‘s] game and you bought your first $17 beer… In comes the umpire, and instead of wearing the black umpires outfit, they’re wearing a Cardinals jersey… You’re not going to stick around and buy another expensive beer, because you know how this game is going to end. Why bother waiting? But there’s a Cardinals fan a couple of rows down that’s pumping their fists… But here’s the problem for that Cardinals fan – it feels good for 10 minutes, but all of a sudden they’re going to realize this has nothing to do with the athletes on the field anymore. It’s all about the umpire instead of the 18 players – it’s going to be the one umpire deciding how this game ends. Baseball is now dead, right? You have to find another sport to enjoy… If you have justices that are wearing a jersey and they have already decided how this game is going to end before the litigates filed their case, before they made their arguments, before they presented their evidence, before you applied the law. Well, then our justice system is dead.”
“You put that robe on and it’s kind of like a shield away from all of your personal opinions and politics. Decide this case based on the law, and if we don’t, if just judges and justices don’t decide cases based on the law, well, what’s the point in having that decision?”
